Over the past few weeks, the need to sleep has been more than the need to post to the blog. So, I appreciate the emails from a few of you asking how we are all doing. Jake has gone from being a great sleeper at night to a bit of a challenge and the blog has suffered as a result.
For Thanksgiving we had a last minute change in plans. We had planned to drive to Alabama. However, Shelli's parents and my parents along with my grandmother all came in for Thanksgiving. Shelli's sister and her family came in as well. We had a house full and spilled over to a local hotel. Everyone had a wonderful time being able to see each other and spend time with our expanding family. Thanksgiving lunch was at Shelli's uncle's house in Pearland. I fried and few turkeys, but Uncle Bob and Aunt Judy put on a feast for us all.
Kailey is still loving the role of big sister. She is very helpful and a perfect little mama for Jake.
Tomorrow we have a trip to Texas Children's Hospital for Jake. Some of this tests had indicated his kidneys are not quite functioning as well as they should. We know that he has a malformed kidney (horseshoe kidney) but don't know much beyond that. He will be having a VCUG performed to help the doctor diagnose what is and is not right with the kidney function. We can't help but to worry and prepare for the worse. However, we are faithful that he will be fine and know that we can face whatever lies ahead.
Attached is just one picture from Thanksgiving. I'll try to, in between naps, get some more pictures up this week.
